RYAN KOLB

Massage Therapist
BA Kin, FST, SMT (cc), 2200 hours – insurance claimable, TPI Certified

Ryan is a Sports Massage Therapist at the Calgary Muscle and Soft Tissue Clinic. His expertise lies in movement and he works tirelessly to return his patients to full function as quickly as possible while still maintaining a high level of care. His bread and butter areas to work on are necks, shoulders, and hips as all are key areas needed to perform at the highest level. Ryan believes in a proactive approach to his treatments in order to avoid injury and prevent re-injury; he prescribes homecare exercises and stretches that coincide with his treatments in order to give his patients added benefit. He has a passion for working with individuals who have suffered a concussion as well as those who need fascial work for scars after a surgery.

Ryan holds a degree in Kinesiology majoring in Mind Sciences from the University of Calgary and a 2200 hour Massage Therapy diploma from Mount Royal University. Additionally, Ryan has continued to expand his knowledge base outside of the University classroom by completing a number of certifications in order to provide the best possible treatments for his patients. He holds certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy, Dynamic Cupping, and Functional Movement Screening. In the near future he plans to explore further certifications to do with concussion management/treatment, assessment protocols for golfers, and further fascial release techniques.

An avid sports enthusiast, Ryan grew up playing a number of different sports from high impact sports like hockey to low impact sports like golf and baseball; all three he continues to play. Born and raised here in Calgary, he also enjoys getting out to the mountains for a good old fashioned camping trip.

  • Disinfecting treatment rooms and tables after each use
  • Limiting hand and face contact (no handshakes, hugs, etc.)

We ask that if you are feeling unwell, even if it just feels like a cold or cough, or if you’ve recently returned from travelling to a high-risk area to please cancel your appointment (we value your observation of giving us as much notice as possible).

Our community is strong and for that, we are thankful. Together, through intentional connection, we will get through this. This situation will be updated on our website homepage as new information becomes available.
